What fascia and soffit cleaning costs, and why
Fascia and soffit cleaning is measured in metres of run rather than square metres of wall. The question is how far the boards go round the building, how high they are, and how badly the surface has been stained by years of gutter overflow.
It is the cheapest job on our list to add to something else and the most awkward to justify as a standalone visit, which is why almost everyone books it alongside gutter clearing.

The pricing factors in order of weight
- Total run length round the property, including the returns over bays, porches and dormers.
- Height, because first-floor eaves on a three-storey house need a different setup from a bungalow.
- Type of soiling. Grey road film washes off easily, green algae needs treatment, and the black streaking left by years of overflow is the slowest to shift.
- Board condition. Chalked or crazed uPVC will clean but will not return to showroom white, and we say so before starting.
- Whether the soffits are ventilated, since perforated boards are cleaned more carefully to avoid forcing water into the eaves.
Why it is almost always bundled
Access is the expensive part of any work at eaves level. If we are already set up to clear your gutters, cleaning the boards below them adds a modest amount to the visit rather than a second mobilisation charge.
There is a practical reason too. Cleaning fascias while the gutters are still full simply means the next downpour redecorates them, so the sensible order is clear the gutters, flush the runs, check the downpipes and then wash the boards.
What is included
A fascia and soffit clean covers the boards, the bargeboards where they can be reached safely and the outside face of the guttering, all washed down and rinsed with ground protection in place. Our own team carries it out in our own signwritten vans, and we are fully insured for the work.
Where we find damaged or badly fitted boards, loose brackets or gutter joints leaking behind the fascia, we photograph it and tell you rather than washing over the problem.
Honest limits
Cleaning restores the surface, it does not resurface it. Old uPVC that has oxidised to a chalky finish comes up cleaner and more even but will never look new again, and any company promising otherwise is selling you something else.
If your boards are past cleaning, we will tell you that a free quote for replacement from a fitter is a better use of your money than paying us to wash them.

Questions we get asked
Can you clean fascias without touching the gutters?
We can, but it rarely makes sense. Overflow from a blocked gutter is what stains the boards, so cleaning them first means doing it again shortly afterwards.
Will the black streaks come off completely?
Most of the time, yes. Long-standing streaking on chalked plastic sometimes leaves a faint shadow, and we will point that out before starting rather than after.
Do you clean the inside of the gutters as part of this?
Gutter clearing is a separate part of the job. Bundling both is what most customers do and it is cheaper than two visits.
Is the quote free?
Yes, quotes and site visits are free with no obligation, whether you go ahead or not.

In short
Run length, height and staining type set the price. Bundling with gutter clearing avoids a second access setup, and honest limits on old uPVC are explained up front.
